Hello queer book loving friends! We are so glad you’ve joined us here in the Meadow. We hope to take everything Hansen House taught us, and bring some magic and whimsy into the mix.
At Hansen House, our goal was to create a home for queer stories, but somewhere along the way, the original goal was lost as we tried to build a brand in the literary world. We began shutting our doors more and more, somehow a focus on competition came into play. In our efforts to look “bigger” than we were, we forgot the true purpose, which was never to be premiere or elite. The goal was always to be inclusionary and diverse, to amplify LGBTQIA+ voices, and help our authors tell incredible stories.
At Midnight Meadow Publishing, our goal is far simplier – to be the field where queer stories can bloom. The focus is the books and the authors, not the brand, which we hope will come after the books and authors, always. We know that the pathway to amazing stories is through nurturing, watering, and shining the light. Like the flowers in a true meadow, all of us have had dirt thrown our way, and a few of us still found the strength to bloom.

Writing advice from our editors: Our editors will offer insight into what they believe makes the best stories to read and to edit.
